YAY! We were finally off that ship, not saying it was bad, it was just nice at land. Anyway, here we were anchored right outside of Cabo San Lucas! We got off and rode the little tender boats to land.
We found our leader, and she showed us the way to Cabo Dolphins. There, we got our wristbands and put on our swimsuits. Finally, we could jump into the water! We met our dolphin that we were gonna swim with. His name was Cahall. He did many tricks. His trainer told us what to do, and Cahall would do something. One example is when we clapped, he’d clap, or try… We all got turns riding on his back which was SOOO fun!
Family Pic before we swim
Look at cute lil Cahall!
Getting ready to go
After we swam with Cahall, we went on a boat ride to the arches. It was really rocky, and at one point we went SUPER fast! My Grandma was so scared. It was funny. 🙂
I’m lovin it
My Grandma is scared
After the boat ride, we went to our ship and watched The Greatest Showman. We ate from the buffet while watching it and then headed to bed.
On the first day, we left our house around 10:30 and drove to the port. It was big, and we had to wait in a LOOOONG line. Finally, we made it on!!!! Phew. We found our grandparents and ate. The ship had sooooooo much food.
After that, we went to the mini golf. It was fun, and my brother LOVED it. We also explored the ship because I’ve never been on a cruise nevertheless this ship, Carnival Splendor. We went to our tiny cabin. It had to bunk beds and a puny bathroom (:/…..). It was cozy, though.
Playing Mini Golf
We all got our own cards!
I woke up in the puny cabin, got dressed, and walked around Lido. Lido is the 9th deck, and my cabin was on the 8th. Lido is also the deck with most of the food. I went to the stern (the back), and saw dolphins swimming in our wake!!!!!! THEY WERE SOOOOO CUTE! After we ate breakfast, my sister and I want on the water slide. It was fun and fast. In the evening, we went to formal night in the dining room. After that, we went to an AMAZING show in the Spectacular Lounge/Theater. The show was called Epic Rock and had dancing and singing. Then, I went to my cabin and slept.
A couple days ago, I went to a regatta at the California Yacht Club in Marina del Rey. It was an hour drive from our house. When we arrived, I said hi to all my old friends who are now on a different racing team than me. I checked in, and my coach, Captain Rod, gave us a tour of the giant yacht club building. Then, we had our Skipper’s Meeting. After that, I went in and rigged my RS Tera. I had to wait a while to get a dolly. Finally, I received one. I brought my boat down to the dock and then launched.
I was out in the marina sailing, and then a PIRATE ATTACKED ME! Just kidding. I got to the committee boat and sailed around while we waited for other boats. Finally, everyone was there and we started the race. We did 6 races, but your worst race would not be counted. Anyway, in my fourth race, I was fouled. I had the overlap, but the boat didn’t give it to me. That caused 12 boats to get ahead of me. 😦 The other races, I did pretty well.
Me sailing again with a couple other Teras.
After all 6 races, we sailed in. My former teammates helped my de-rig. We checked the board with the results and I got 17th place. I would’ve earned around 15th without that foul. There were 30 boats racing so I ended up in the middle, and I beat a bunch of high-schoolers! 🙂 Then, I went to the yacht club restaurant and ate with my mom. The reason why my siblings didn’t come is that they were at Scout-O-Rama. I ordered a burger and fries, and there was free POPCORN! Yummmmmmyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me with my friend.
I’m eating. lol
After that, we headed home. It was an hour drive on the way back. Luckily, I had popcorn to eat in the car.
